What is Property Care and how do I know if I need it? What do I need to do to get started, how do I decide on a service package? Will you respond as the emergency contact for my Strata Corporation? Who will be coming and going from my home and what experience do they have? What if I'm away for months at a time, who will keep in touch with me? What if the bathtub faucet starts dripping while I'm away, who will fix it? We have extensive gardening requirements, is this part of Property Care services? We have a pet will you take care of it? Q. What is Property Care and how do I know if I need it?
A. Property Care is a service for anyone leaving their home vacant for short or long periods of time. Whether your home is a bachelor suite in Yaletown or an Executive home on the North Shore or Westside, Advent's Property Care Services offer a variety of packages to suit your individual needs whilst you are away.
Q. What do I need to do to get started, how do I decide on a service package?
A. We are only a phone call or email away and will set-up a convenient time to meet with you in your home to discuss which services that would be required for your home during your absence. It's a great time for you to personally get-to-know the specialist who will be coming into your home and for us to get to know your home to recommend the best service package for you.
Q. Will you respond as the emergency contact for my Strata Corporation?
A. Yes, absolutely. All of us have friends and family but don't want to leave them with the worry of what to do in the case of an emergency. We are Licensed Property Managers trained and experienced in responding to emergency calls and dealing with Strata Corporation policy.
Q. Who will be coming and going from my home and what experience do they have?
A. Each client is assigned a Licensed Property Manager whom you will meet with to discuss the services we provide. It is this Property Manager who will personally inspect and care for your home. Should this person not be able to carry out the inspection you will be contacted immediately by Michelle Farina, Managing Broker to discuss who will be conducting the services in the absence of your assigned Property Manager.
Q. What if I'm away for months at a time, who will keep in touch with me?
A. Your Property Manager will follow up after each inspection and keep you up to date with a detailed status report. When you are ready to come home we will make sure that your homecoming is comfortable, just let us know what you will need upon your arrival. If you require an extension on your services we will also make the necessary arrangements.
Q. What if the bathtub faucet starts dripping while I'm away, who will fix it?
A. We will always keep you informed of maintenance items, as well, we can arrange for the repair to take place professionally, efficiently and cost effective.
Q. We have extensive gardening requirements, is this part of Property Care services?
A. No, we are not gardeners, however, we can assist by overseeing someone or can recommend one for you if this is an area of concern for you while away.
Q. We have a pet will you take care of it?
A. No, we do not take care of pets, but can recommend care services for you.
Q. How often do you need to inspect my home?
A. This depends on a few different things. If you are in a Strata building, the Strata Corporation may have specific guidelines set out in their Bylaws on how often you should have someone inspecting your home. Also, insurance companies in some cases will set out a guideline for their protection. Please contact your insurance agent and/or Strata Corporation for more information.
Q. What if my alarm is set off while I am away, will you be the contact person?
A. Yes, we will respond to alarm systems.
